Sunderland Shorts Film Festival has been dedicated to showcasing the best short films here in the North East of the UK since 2015. We are proud to be a BIFA (British Independent Film Awards) Qualifying Film Festival as well as in 2023 becoming a "Top 100 Best Reviewed" event on FilmFreeway from over 13,000 festivals worldwide.

With something for film lovers and filmmakers alike, join us this May as we share 5 days of fantastic short films and music videos from across the country and around the World, while championing the homegrown talent from here in the region.
